THE BOURJOIS FOUNDATIONS WHICH HAVE STOLEN MY HEART...

At the beginning of the year I decided that 2016 was going to be the year that I would finally find my perfect drugstore foundation. I decided to try a different one every month and then crown a winner in December, and whilst I'm sure there will still be more that I can't resist trying, I have to say that the Bourjois City Radiance Foundation has well and truly won me over. Before trying this the Bourjois Healhty Mix Serum had always been my favourite and whilst I really do love it, it's just a smidge too dark for my casper complexion :( I have dry and dehydrated skin so I like my foundation to be quite light and dewy and give that sort of 'lit from within look' and both of these little beauties definitely tick those boxes for me...

I've loved the formula of the Healthy Mix Serum for several years because it reminds me of a BB Cream but with a higher coverage and it's super quick and easy to blend. I like to use it with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge as I find it gives a seamless finish which you can build up depending on the coverage you want. The finish is everything I look for in a foundation as it's dewy without being shiny and looks really natural, but it's not particularly long lasting and I find myself needing a couple of concealer and powder touch ups throughout the day. I love the glass bottle packaging and I find that it lasts for several months even when I use it every day so at £10.99 I think it's pretty good value for money.

The City Radiance Foundation (£9.99) has a slightly thicker consistency which is still really easy to blend, although I find it applies best with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and then I bob my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge around as a finishing touch to make sure everything is as seamless as possible. I absolutely love the finish this gives - it's radiant and very natural looking and it has excellent staying power too so I don't need to worry too much about touch ups throughout the day. This initially scored brownie points with me because it's pretty much a perfect match for my pale skin (which is one of the biggest struggles I usually have with foundation!) The shade range is quite limited though, but Bourjois have definitely improved their palest shade compared to the other foundations of theirs that I've tried. I really love the simple pink and silver packaging and the added SPF 30 makes it a perfect choice for spring and summer too. I just can't rave about this enough; it has that your skin but better and a lot more healthy kind of finish and I'm desperate to try the matching concealer too but it's always out of stock in my local boots *insert of all of the tears*

Have you tried either of these foundations? I'd love to hear what you think of them :)

    1. It's such a lovely natural finish isn't it, definitely a great one for everyday wear :) I don't think I've come across a bad review about city radiance yet, it's definitely worth a try and I think Bourjois is 3 for 2 at Boots atm!

  3. I discovered the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation first when I was about 18 then moved onto the serum, and there's something about it that is just a hundred times better! The gel serum is my absolute holy grail foundation, but I'm desperate to try the City Radiance foundation & concealer, especially, as you said, for the spring/summer months! I defo need to get my hands on it soon!
