For the past couple of years me and my family have gone for a pre-christmas dinner in our favourite local pub the week before Christmas and it's always one of my highlights of the festive season. I've had the day off today so really enjoyed applying my makeup properly rather than just slapping on whatever I could manage in about five minutes (I always seem to end up running late in the mornings no matter how early I get up!) I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to share the festive makeup I've been enjoying wearing recently and also have a chat about my current favourite makeup products...

For my base I've been starting with the Soap & Glory 'One Heck Of A Blot' Primer and it's been completely knocking my socks off (full review coming very soon!); I squeeze a little out onto my fingers then smooth it all over my face and it gives a really silky, smooth finish which reminds me of Benefit Porefessional. I then dab Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum all over my face using my Real Techniques Blending Sponge which gives a really seamless 'your skin but better' finish. I've been really enjoying using the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer for the past few months to cover and brighten my under eye circles and then I keep everything in place with a dusting of the Natural Collection Powder. The Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar Ultra Blush and Contour Palette is all kinds of awesome and is basically all I've been using since I bought it a couple of months ago - the gold in the top right corner makes the perfect, subtle contour shade for my casper complexion and the mauve blusher next to it gives a lovely shimmery flush to the cheeks which manages to be berry toned without looking clown like.

For my eyes I've been obsessed with the Tanya Burr 'Creme Brûlée' Eye Shimmer Pot which was behind door number one of her beauty advent calendar. It's the prettiest, glittery copper shade which I like to wear all over the lid and blended into the crease, then I pop a little along my lower lash line too. I've been trying really hard to improve my winged eyeliner technique recently and I've been really impressed with the Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner; it gives quite a fine line which you have plenty of control with and it has excellent staying power too. I got the Soap & Glory Thick & Fast HD Collagen Coat Mascara in The Whole She Bang gift set last weekend and I was really excited to try it as I've been really impressed with the other Soap & Glory mascaras I've tried and my oh my does this thing give serious volume and length! There'll be a full review of it coming soon as I want to do some 'before and after' photos to show just how much va va voom it manages to give my stubby little lashes ;) I've then been using the Natural Collection Crushed Walnut Eyeshadow to fill in my brows - I love how much extra definition and oomph it gives them, but it still manages to give a natural finish and I find it much easier to apply than a eyebrow pencil.

I finished the look off with this Tanya Burr 'Bewitching' Lipgloss which also came in her advent calendar - I can't resist a bit of berry this time of year, but I didn't want anything that would be too high maintenance as I knew I'd be devouring a lot of food at the pub (hehe!) so this is perfect as it leaves an even pigment to the lips even after it's faded and it isn't too sticky :)

8 more sleeps to go!
