THE MOST LONG LASTING LIPSTICKS EVER (WHY DIDN'T I TRY THEM SOONER?!)

The Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Liquid Lipsticks £8.99 are a product which I have read so many rave reviews about and have had on my 'to-buy' list for at least a year *hangs head in shame* The trouble with being a beauty blogger is you end up wanting to try a lot of products and it can be a little difficult choosing between them all which is why it took me so long to pick these little babies up. When I was repurchasing one of my favourite foundations (Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum) a couple of weeks ago there was a two for £14 promotion on, so it only cost me an extra £3 to finally get one of these beauties. After trying it just once I knew I'd found the lipstick of my dreams insert holy music here so of course I had to pop off and pick up the other two shades I'd also had my eye on...
Plum Plum Girl is the most perfect Autumn shade which I feel like I've been searching my whole life for; it's quite a warm, dark purple which works really well with my dark hair but doesn't make me look too ghostly and pale. I've been wearing this constantly recently as it's not too crazy and out there for every day wear and complements all of my favourite autumn jumpers (particularly cream and khaki!) This one does take a little patience with application as it can have a tendency to look a smidge streaky, but I've found if you apply a neutral colour lip liner underneath and pat this in slightly with your finger it gives a lovely even and opaque finish which quite literally doesn't budge! I wore this to work on Friday and even after having a hot chocolate and eating my lunch it hadn't moved or smudged - it's a bloomim miracle worker!
I don't tend to wear red lipstick very often, but I chose Grand Cru with the upcoming festive season in mind. You just can't beat a red lip at Christmas, but with all the scrumptious food around (is it too early to be dreaming of my Christmas food baby?!) I can't be doing with worrying about a statement lipstick being smudged around my chops, so this really is the answer to all of my red lip needs. As I've tried to show in the swatch this is quite a deep red rather than being too 'pillar box' (baby steps and all that!) and I really can't wait to crack this out with a bit of glittery gold eyeshadow very soon *fa la la la la la la la la
As much as I love bold lipstick, sometimes you just need a good old neutral (particularly if you've gone a little crazy with your eyeshadow and liquid liner!) Being a pale gal, finding a neutral lipstick which doesn't make me look like I'm diseased has been a bit of a mission though, but I knew So Hap'pink was 'the one' as soon as I swatched it - it's kind of a dark, salmon pink and apart from the horrendous smell (which the other two don't have) this really does get top marks from me. It's super easy to apply as the colour is extremely opaque and I'm a big fan of the doe foot applicator as it just sort of glides across the lips and gives a neater finish than a lipstick bullet. I'm not normally a fan of matte finishes as my lips are prone to dryness, but these are so creamy to apply and don't sit in lip cracks/make lips look flaky like so many matte formulas do.

Boots and Superdrug each have 3 for 2 across makeup at the moment so if you haven't already tried these I'd highly recommend adding a couple to your basket...believe me you won't regret it ;)

I've been looking for the perfect red recently but I prefer lipglosses to Iipsticks and I couldn't find the red I wanted in a lipgloss but well pigmented enough to be worth wearing ! This is exactely the shade I've been looking for :) I loved this post !

  10. On a night out recently, I was amazed at how my friend's lipstick didn't budge every time she went for a sip of wine. She told me it was this Bourjois range! So nice to have a drugstore brand that has staying power- it’s usually the more expensive lippies that do.

Unfortunately, not a lot of the shades suit my skin tone but I will persevere :D.
