SOAP & GLORY SEXY MOTHER PUCKER GLOSS STICKS (A.K.A. MY NEW OBSESSION)

As much as I love makeup, there are some days when I can't be doing with fussing about whether my lipstick needs topping up. When I'm at college things are crazily busy and I'm usually lucky if I get a chance to pop some lip balm on, so I've been on the hunt for a low maintenance lip product which will give my lips a hint of colour and oomph but won't run the risk of getting smudged around my chops or leaking onto my teeth. I've seen a few bloggers raving about the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks, and when I discovered they were only £3.50 in a little swatching session in Boots recently I couldn't resist picking up a couple a try...

I do love a plum/purple for this time of year and I was really impressed with the pigmentation of Purple Rain when I swatched it. It comes out a very similar colour on the lips too and it gives quite a striking, glossy wash of colour which lasts even once the gloss has faded. I usually wear a lip liner under all of my lip products to help with longevity, but I've found these work better without one as the lips need to be completely dry to get a good colour pay off. You literally just swipe it across the lips a couple of times (which you can probably even manage to do without a mirror!) and I've been really impressed with the staying power too; I find I only need to top them up on my lunch break and I still have a wash of colour even when I remove my makeup in the evening. Plum/burgundy lip products are usually quite high maintenance as they can be tricky to get an even, opaque finish and often fade in the middle of the lips throughout the day, so I really can't get enough of this and I have to admit my other plum/burgundy lip products haven't had a look in since adding this to my collection!

Pink-A-Boo is a perfect everyday option and it works really well for a 'no makeup, makeup' look. It's a peach toned pink which complements my pale complexion and doesn't wash me out, but I can imagine it suiting warmer skin tones too. I can never make my mind up on the Sexy Mother Pucker Lipglosses/Lip Lacquers as I find the tingly feeling quite uncomfortable and they're a little too sticky for my liking, so Soap & Glory have really hit the nail on the head with these Gloss Sticks as they don't tingle at all and they're glossy like a lip butter so they don't have any stickiness. They smell (and taste!) amazing too and really remind me of the Mac Vanilla lipstick scent. Their mini size makes them perfect for carrying around in your handbag and even though I've been wearing them pretty much everyday for the past two weeks I don't seem to have worn them down much at all, so I can imagine them lasting for quite a long time :)

I've got my eyes on Nudist and Technicoral too and really hope Soap & Glory bring out a few more shades - #sexymotherpuckerglossstickaddictandproud
