1. At the beginning of the month me and James had a week off work together and as we're in the process of saving for and planning our wedding (which we're *hoping* is going to happen in October 2016!) we decided to have a little 'staycation' rather than going away anywhere. We really love where we live and we were very fortunate to have a whole week of gloriously sunny and warm weather, so we made the most of our time together by strolling down to the beach and sitting outside in the sunshine at our new favourite seaside bar with panini's and chips #nom

2. We went to Brighton for the day during our week off too so I was finally able to pay a visit to the new Kiko store in Churchill Square and oh my sweet heavenly goodness - it was incredible! I quite literally felt like a kid in a sweet shop and found it impossible not to buy the whole shop; there was so much choice and I loved how similar the layout was to MAC, it really felt like a highend store but the prices were amazing and I actually ended up having to visit again after we'd had lunch to pick up a couple more bits!

3. We also had a day out at the Ashford Outlet Centre which we started with a naughty little treat breakfast from Millies Cookies; their chocolate muffins are my favourite muffins in the world and if you can't treat yourself when you're on holiday when can you eh?!
4. I've been on a little mission over the past couple of months to cut down my wardrobe so that I only have items which I genuinely love and feel completely comfortable in. This beautiful tan satchel from Warehouse was a new purchase this month and was one of the main 'essentials' that was missing from my wardrobe, and I've used it pretty much every day since I bought it at the beginning of the month! I'm so in love with it and find it such a handy size for everyday use. It works with all of my outfits and gives a little summit summit to my quite basic wardrobe; I don't think I've ever been so happy with my style :)

5. I finally got round to signing up with Netflix at the end of July and I am well and truly obsessed! I'd been wanting to watch PLL for years but never got round to ordering the DVDs so I was super excited to have immediate access to all of the seasons and I somehow managed to watch all 6 in just under a month *oops* There were so many spoilers flying around all over the internet I knew I had to catch up with it as quickly as I could and somehow I managed not to find out anything!! I absolutely loved it and I thought the season finale was immense, although I know a lot of people have been disappointed with it. I'm counting down for season 7 already ;)

6. It was James's birthday yesterday so I did us a little special breakfast with M&S croissants and apricot jam and mini Colin the Caterpillar birthday cakes :)

7. I ordered some blog business cards from Vista Print in preparation for the #bloggersfestival which I'm going to in London next Saturday :) I'm a little bit nervous but also super excited and I've arranged a pre-event Pizza Express bloggers lunch with Soeurs De Luxe (who have done a blog post with all of the details here if you fancy coming along too!)

  1. Sounds like you had a busy August with all those nice day trips, staycations are the best sometimes! Good luck with your beauty course, I hope it all goes well - definitely the best part of starting a course - buying all the stationery and bits and pieces you need! x

  2. Oooo I see pretty stationery =]

  3. Wow, you've been a busy bunny! So many new lovely things too, I always enjoy getting new stationery, there is something special about writing on the first clean page of a notepad!

  4. Netflix is the best (and worst haha), I spend so many hours watching shows or movies!! I love PLL, and I've recently started watching Suits. x
