THE MOST AMAZING BLACK SKINNY JEANS EVER (AND THEY'RE ONLY £22!!)

Dorothy Perkins Black Frankie Jegging Jeans £22 (Buy Here)

For the past couple of years I have desperately wanted a pair of Topshop Black Leigh Jeans after hearing pretty much every blogger and their nan rave about them, but I just can't justify (or frankly afford!) £38 for a pair of jeans, even with my 25% Arcadia discount :( I pretty much live in black skinny jeans and after my trusty old Newlook pair started to look like they'd seen better days I knew I needed to find a good replacement. I like Newlook jeans but their high waisted ones usually have three buttons down the front which isn't really my cup of tea when I'm wearing short tops/jumpers and I find River Island much too pricey. A couple of ladies I work with have mentioned before how good Dorothy Perkins jeans are so when I found these 'jegging' jeans on their website and saw lots of positive customer reviews I decided to give them a whirl. Dorothy Perkins are always running promotions with up to 30% off and I get my staff discount on top of that, so these were an absolute bargain and I think they ended up costing me just over £10!

I can't rave about these enough; they're the loveliest fabric as they're super soft and quite stretchy rather than being a rigid denim, so they're really comfortable and sort of mould to your shape once you've worn them for a little while. They're such a brilliant fit too and I'd actually go as far as to say they're the best fitting jeans I've ever tried! I'd definitely recommend getting them in the tightest fit you can as they do give a little once you've worn them for a day or two; the best piece of advice I've ever read about jeans is when you first try a pair on they should be hard work to get on and done up, if you can just slip straight into them they're going to end up being too big for you as jeans always stretch. These are definitely more of a jean than a jegging as the fabric is the same thickness as jeans so you can get away with wearing cropped tops with them like I am in the photo and you don't have to worry about VPL :) Even after wearing (and washing!) them to death they retain their shape and size really well, plus they're a high waisted fit which prevents them from falling down and giving you the dreaded 'builders bum' look! I have to stop myself from wearing these quite literally every day and can honestly say they're the item in my wardrobe which I feel the most comfortable in :) Is it possible to be in love with and want to marry a pair of jeans?!?!

If you've been wanting to try Topshop jeans or are just after a good pair of high waisted skinnies, I'd definitely give these a try and they come in blue denim, white and khaki too :) Make sure you nab them when Dorothy Perkins have got money off though so you get a really good bargain, there's 20% off on their website today and the store will usually honour that price for you too.

Love Holly x

    1. Thank you so much, I just popped that one on as I wanted to show how the jeans come up quite high waisted :) I'm so pleased you like how I did the photos too as I was worried they were a bit pants!

  5. I'm definitely going to give these a go - I really struggle with black skinny jeans, as so often I find they go baggy and shapeless far too quickly. I'll buy these in as small a size as I possibly can and hopefully they won't go baggy after a couple of wears! Why are classic items always the hardest to nail?!

  6. These sound like a dream! I do love the style and fit of the Topshop Joni's but they are so bad for washing! I'm on my second pair now and both times the colour has gone funny after the first wash, so I don't think they're all they're cracked up to be! I will definitely need to give these a try instead, and such a bargain price compared to the £40 Topshop ones! I do hope they do a tall version though, that's the only reason I keep going back to Topshop, nowhere else makes jeans long enough for me! It's a stubble getting a good pair of jeans, isn't it?!
