LATELY I'VE BEEN BAKING: CHOCOLATE ORANGE BROWNIES

I've been feeling a little down recently as my Fibromyalgia has been really horrendous so I decided to cheer myself up yesterday afternoon by doing some baking. I wanted to make some chocolate brownies as I've only ever made them once before (I'm a huge fan of brownies so I'm not quite sure how this is possible!!) but I thought it would be fun to make them with orange chocolate. I put my hands up and admit that these are seriously naughty and seriously indulgent, but I have a massive sweet tooth and sometimes you just have to treat yourself. Everyone seems to have gone so health crazy this year but I think it's very important to remember that 'life is too short, eat the cake' <3
Ingredients:
200g Unsalted Butter
350g Caster Sugar
100g Plain Flour
4 Eggs
50g Cocoa Powder
200g Dark Chocolate
Terry's Chocolate Orange
1. Melt the butter and dark chocolate in a heat proof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Stir regularly until fully melted and smooth (don't overheat).
2. Whisk the eggs and sugar together and then stir in the melted chocolate/butter mixture, sifted flour and sifted cocoa powder. Add in the chocolate orange chunks.
3. Spoon the mixture into a lined baking tray and bake in the oven at 180 Degrees for 35 minutes. Leave to cool and cut into squares, then tuck in and enjoy :)
I have to say these are probably the yummiest thing I've ever made and it really made me remember just how much I adore baking. I'm going to treat myself to a couple of new cook books and start baking every Sunday; it's so important to do what makes you happy :)

Let me know if you give these a try!

    1. I was thinking you could do a healthy version of them with a skinny brownie recipe and orange zest instead of chocolate :)
